Live Cattle futures traded to a new low for the year as the cash market continues to work lower. Feeder Cattle futures also traded to the lowest level of 2026 today as both the Corn and Live Cattle markets work against the complex. Lean Hog futures could not hold their gains from earlier in the session and posted new contract lows in most months. Corn futures posted new contract highs today as the industry prices in lower yields.

Live Cattle futures started the day sharply lower following a social media post from President Trump that the administration would be bringing more beef into the Untied States. Feeder Cattle futures also opened sharply lower but led the rally to finish mostly higher. Lean Hog futures tested contract lows today but ended the day positive. Corn traded to the highest level in 2026 today as demand remains strong and production is a question mark.

Live Cattle futures finished the day higher following a sharply higher boxed beef market this morning. August Feeder Cattle finished the day lower while the rest of the complex finished higher. Lean Hog futures traded to new lows for the move but recovered nearly half of the early losses. Corn futures traded to the highest levels since May but ended the day lower.

Live Cattle futures recovered late in the day following the announcement from Tyson Foods of more plant closures that pressed the market lower. Feeder Cattle futures also traded to their daily highs in the final minutes of the day but finish the week with big losses. Lean Hog futures finished lower for the second day in a row and traded to the lowest levels since the beginning of July. Corn futures found support from this week’s WASDE Report and traded to the highest level in three weeks.

Corn futures lost the momentum from the overnight session and finished the day steady as traders continue to monitor weather.

Corn futures started the week higher but lost most of those gains today as the radar shows precipitation across much of the Corn Belt.

Feeder Cattle futures finished the week higher after beginning the week under pressure due to the future opening of the Mexican border. Lean Hog futures saw big losses in the middle of the week but finished the week with decent gains. Corn futures finished lower four days this week and fell below technical support areas at the end of the week.

Live Cattle futures finished the day sharply higher after trading lower with the Feeder Cattle futures yesterday. Feeder Cattle futures were sharply higher in the nearby contracts but lower in the deferred as traders price in more supply in the future with the opening of the Mexican border. Lean Hog futures finished the day with good gains after trading sharply lower on Monday. Corn futures rebounded today after the grain complex as a whole felt pressure to start the week.

Live Cattle futures traded on both sides of steady today in anticipation of today’s Cattle on Feed and Cattle Inventory Reports. Feeder Cattle futures started the day sharply higher but traded lower in the late morning and ended the day with decent gains. The Lean Hog complex finished higher each of the final two days this week as the pork cutout posted new recent highs this week. Corn futures fell victim to a lower wheat market earlier this morning but shrugged that off late in the day and finished mixed.
